Tafl: viking chess

This is a classic Scandinavian strategy board game from the Middle Ages, often compared to chess in its cultural significance. The game offers several variations, including different board sizes (7x7, 9x9, 11x11, or 13x13) and victory conditions—either moving the king to the board's edge or corner. Players can also adjust rules like king encirclement (surrounding from two or four sides) and the number of attacking (black) and defending (white) pieces. It supports multiple play modes: against AI, local multiplayer on one device, or online matches. The attacking black pieces make the first move, followed by alternating turns. All pieces move vertically or horizontally any number of spaces.
